Qualification of program for continuing
education credit. Completion of a formal program of learning
which serves to enhance the professional knowledge and
development of the licensee shall qualify as continuing
education credit. For the purposes of this chapter, a formal
program of learning shall be defined as any of the following:
(1) Attendance at a local, state, national or
international continuing education program having a featured
speaker;
(2) First aid, CPR or emergency related classes;
(3) Viewing of educational video tapes not to exceed four
credits;
(4) Teaching a seminar for the first time, not to exceed
eight hours;
(5) Business and management courses not to exceed six
hours;
(6) Specialized training in an aspect of massage therapy
provided by an individual who has expertise in that area, has
been licensed in this state for no less than three years, and
who charges a fee;
(7) Courses from a state, county, or city school or
program or approved massage school, program, or apprenticeship
trainer in massage therapy or related topics; or
(8) Training provided by a health care professional
certified or licensed in their area of expertise.
