Can family members of sexual assault victims
receive counseling? (1) Counseling for immediate family members
of sexual assault victims is appropriate when:
(a) The family member suffers psychological trauma as a
result of the sexual assault; or
(b) Counseling the family member will help the client's
recovery.
(2) Immediate family members are the client's parents,
spouse, child(ren), siblings, grandparents, and those members of
the same household who have assumed the rights and duties
commonly associated with a family unit.
(3) Counseling for immediate family members will be covered
under the victim's sexual assault claim.
